After Ohio State won the first championship of the 12-team playoff era, the AP poll released their final poll of the college football season.

Ryan Silverfield's Memphis Tigers cracked the poll after narrowly escaping the Frisco Bowl with a 42-37 victory over West Virginia.

This marks the first season since 2019 that the Tigers have finished the season in the AP poll. Three other Group of Five teams, No. 8 Boise State, No. 21 Army, and No. 23 UNLV also finished the season in the poll.

While the aspirations of a Playoff appearance were not met, Memphis still garnered national respect.

Memphis Football lost a number of key pieces, including Seth Henigan, Mario Anderson Jr., and Chandler Martin, making this spring and summer very important.

Memphis has made strides in the transfer portal since their season ended in Frisco, and Ryan Silverfield and company will hope to get to the AAC Championship for the first time in his tenure.
