UofM Honors Passing of MTSU Student

The Stonewall Tigers and Office of Multicultural Affairs hosted a vigil in Serenity Birdsong, remembrance and to honor the open transgender student at the Student Activity Plaza. Even though the weather was painfully windy on Oct. 28, the candles were still lit. A group of people stood in a circle. And one was mourned, Serenity Birdsong, an MTSU student who is no longer here with us due to suicide. She was admired on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University and was adored and loved by many of her peers and teachers. Counseling services were also present along with the Dean of Students to share their condolences.
