There is an exciting event coming up this month for music lovers of all ages, organized by the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music on Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 7-9pm at The Green Room at Crosstown Arts.
In the past, this event has been held at The Bluff, but due to The Bluff closing down, the event organizers have had to find alternative venues. This will be the second Bluff City Fest of the semester; the first one, which was on Oct. 2, was held on campus in the Scheidt Family Performing Arts Center Plough Performance Hall. Performers are eager to be able to have this event at an off-campus location for this upcoming show. This festival celebrates Memphis’s iconic music scene with eight different bands showcasing a vibrant variety of genres including rap and contemporary rock, pop, blues, jazz, and classic rock. General admission tickets are $10 and $5 for students who bring their student ID. Jack Cooper, professor of jazz studies and commercial music at the University of Memphis Scheidt School of Music, encourages people to, “Come out to The Green Room, it should be a lot of fun.”
