On Wednesday, October 9, the University of Memphis hosted a premiere to celebrate Amazon Prime’s “The College Tour,” starring the University of Memphis in their 12th season. The episode highlighted students from UofM and their different personalities and what those students will bring into the world and their Memphis pride. Gage Farris, a junior and history major, said, “I am really proud to represent Memphis, the history department and the first-generation community of the UofM.”
Not only were the chosen students showing off Memphis pride, but they did it humbly and with confidence. Donovan McLemore, a junior entrepreneur and business marking major expressed his gratitude towards the University of Memphis and his support system, by stating, “I’m not from Tennessee so to have this support is awesome.”
“This is the 12th season of 'The College Tour,' and colleges from all around the country have done this,” said one of the audition managers for the show. “From the beginning of February of last year, we saw that and said absolutely, it could help us get out there. They were here for only a few days but on a beautiful week, weather wise, to help capture all 10 students. We held auditions and picked the 10 students that showed the most drive and dedication that are willing to represent our school.”
