Alasia Smith, who will return for her fifth season, warms up before the Tigers' game against ECU last season.

The University of Memphis women’s basketball team announced their 2024-25 non-conference schedule Monday afternoon.

In head coach Alex Simmons’ second season at the helm the Tigers will face several notable opponents, including a home game at FedExForum against in-state rival and Simmons’ alma-mater Tennessee on Dec. 18, another rivalry game at FedExForum against Louisville on Dec. 21, and a road game at Mississippi State on Nov. 7.

The Tigers will begin their season at home on Nov. 4 against Mississippi Valley State University.

Memphis lost 1500-point scorer Madison Griggs, but star forward Alasia Smith is back for her fifth year under coach Simmons.

The Tigers also added Michigan State transfer guard DeeDee Hagemann, who averaged 12.3 points and 5.3 assists for the Spartans a year ago.

Hagemann joins Tilly Boler from Jackson State and Eluana Eaton from Ole Miss as transfer guards coach Simmons has added this offseason.

The 2024-25 American Athletic Conference schedule has not been announced yet, but the Tigers’ opponents have been announced.

Memphis will play home-and-homes with Florida Atlantic, North Texas, Temple, Tulsa, UAB, and UTSA. The Tigers will host Wichita State, East Carolina, and Charlotte at home, and they will travel to Rice, Tulane, and South Florida.

Tiger fans will get their first look at this year’s squad on Oct. 15 at FedExForum when they face the reigning national champion South Carolina Gamecocks in an exhibition game for St. Jude.
