The Nashville Predators ended the LA Kings’ winning streak at four when they took them down 4-1 in their final meeting this season.
With the dub, Nashville improves to 30-25-2 of the year. Colton Sissons had a three-point game (1 goal, 2 assists) while Juuse Saros made 27 saves on 28 saves faced in net. This was also the Predators third straight win.
Yakov Trenin scored the 1st goal of the game to make it 1-0 Nashville, cutting to the net and tucking a backhand home past goalie David Rittich.
Kevin Fiala, the former Nashville Predator, tied the game up at one a piece with 52.8 seconds left to go in the 1st period on a two-man advantage powerplay. He shot it from the slot, top shelf past the glove of Juuse Saros. This sent the game to intermission with both teams tied at 1-1 at the end of the 1.
Mark Jankowski put Nashville up 2-1, scoring on the rebound on a loose puck out in front of the net. This would be the only goal in the 2nd period as the Predators headed into intermission with the one-goal lead.
The Kings had chances in the 3rd period but could not capitalize. Quinton Byfield had a breakaway in that period, but he was stopped by the glove of Saros.
Colton Sissons and Jeremy Lauzon each added empty netters for the 4-1 final as the Predators walked out of Hollywood with a win over the Kings.
Nashville continues their five-game road trip through California Saturday against the San Jose Sharks. The puck drops at 9:00 p.m. CT.
