WYXR, the radio station located in Crosstown Concourse, hosts a number of shows – including the Pregame Radio, where Keandre Gipson – mostly known as DJ 2keys – spins the ones and twos alongside DJ KVNG and Jazzy Lo.
Gipson has been a radio host at WYXR for over a year, where he plays some of your favorite local hip-hop, R&B and music that is trending. “We cover current events in hip-hop and pop culture, while spreading some of the hottest music,” Gipson said.
DJ 2keys has made several appearances on the University of Memphis Campus. Over the weekend, he was partnered with the Black Alumni Association to bring homecoming to life with the sound of music at different events.
“The radio station has taught me to bring my DJing and my voice together to promote the advancement of music culture,” Gipson said.
Gipson enjoys working at the station. “I can see myself doing radio stations for a long-term career of mine,” he said.
He has had the chance to interview local musicians in Memphis as well as well-known rappers and singers so that their audience can get some of the inside scoop. The Pregame Radio is live on 91.7 F.M. at 8pm-10pm.
“We have more great interviews, more vibes and great music,” Gipson said. “What we have in store, I think a lot of people would like it.”
