 Non-students escorted off campus due to marijuana smell

Five non-students accompanied by the strong smell of marijuana were found in an apartment in Carpenter Complex when officers arrived to the scene on March 13, according to a police report by officer Robert Bramlett. Police were contacted by Carpenter Complex staff when the staff observed the strong odor, according to the report. However, no drugs were found in the apartment. The resident of the apartment was not present, and the five non-students claimed to be her guests. They were escorted off campus by police, according to the report.

  

PlayStation allegedly stolen from student’s room

A 21-year-old male student’s PlayStation console was missing from his room on March 13, according to a police report by officer Steven Grisham. The victim’s suitemate allowed the alleged suspect into the victim’s room without permission, and when the victim returned from class he found his PlayStation missing from his room, according to the report. The victim advised that the 23-year-old suspect did not have his permission to enter his room, according to the report.

 

 

Stereo and cash stolen from car

Conlee lot / 3700 Poplar Avenue

A 19-year-old male student’s stereo and cash were stolen from his car parked in Conlee lot on March 14, according to a police report by officer Randy Phillips. The victim told police the suspect’s entry to his vehicle was gained through punching out the front driver’s side door lock, according to the report. The car was parked on the north side in the first parking space off Poplar.

 

Two men in hoodies steal from car

3600 block of Evans

March 14 2017

A 19-year-old male students car was broken into at the 3600 block of Evans on March 14, according to a police report by officer Marco Anderson. According to a witness, two men with light gray hoodies broke into the victim’s vehicle, taking something from inside. Officers observed the keyhole on the driver’s door punched in and the dashboard molding ripped from the console, according to the report. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a black Dodge Charger, according to the report.

 

Student’s vehicle ransacked

March 14 2017

An 18-year-old male student’s truck was ransacked at 505 Zach Curlin on March 14, according to a police report by officer James Vickers. The victim told police he parked his truck on lot #15 near the Rec Center and when he returned from class he found the driver’s side door punched out, and the vehicle ransacked. However, the victim found nothing missing from his vehicle, according to the report.

 

Woman caught speeding with suspended license

A 26-year-old female was pulled over for speeding and driving with a suspended license on March 15, according to a police report by officer Tavious Ward. Officer Ward pulled over the suspect, who was driving a gold Buick at 59 mph in a 35 mph. When asked for her license and proof of insurance, the defendant told Ward she was getting them within the week. She was then charged with a misdemeanor citation for driving with a suspended license as well as lack of proof of insurance, according to the report.

 

Television allegedly damaged by roommate

An 18-year old male student’s television was damaged at the Living Learning Complex on March 15, according to a police report by Officer James Vickers. The victim believes his roommate intentionally cracked the screen of his television while he was away, according to the report.
