If you have not seen the new Star Wars film, here’s your chance. The Student Activities Council is showing Star Wars: The Force Awakens Wednesday as part of the SAC Movie Series. Today’s free showing will be on the UC lawn at 7p.m.
If you cannot make it to the showing tonight, there will be a second showing Friday at the University Center Theatre at 7p.m. The film scored a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb movie review websites.
Nearly 30 years after defeating the Galactic Empire, the last remaining Jedi, Luke Skywalker, has disappeared. Now the First Order has risen and attempts to take control of the galaxy by eliminating the New Republic. Only a group of heroes lead by the Resistance and Luke’s twin sister, General Leia Organa, can help stop them, all while still searching for Luke.
Madison Inman, marketing chair of SAC, would like to invite everyone to attend the event. “We host different occurrences in which we show movies on campus, the first movie shown was the first week of school, we have two showings this month, and the next will be shown in November and it will be Zootopia,” Inman said. “I really like being involved on campus, SAC is a great way to do that. Anyone is welcome to attend interest meetings and invited to get involved with SAC.”
