Serenity Valentine

Valentine’s Day is once again right around the corner, and couples are preparing for their day of love and appreciation.

Some might choose to go to dinner and a movie or simply take a walk down by the river and enjoy the view.

However, for some, with classes and work and the way that the semester is going by so fast already, the preparation has been put on hold.

According to Lisa McNerney, owner of Serenity Day Spa, she knows how stressed college students are and her job does their best to make everyone they come in contact feels wanted.

“We have people who come from Mississippi and Arkansas and who just come while on vacation so that they can relax,” McNerney said, “no matter where they come from, we make sure our customer service and hospitality is pleasing to the customer.”

Serenity Day Spa, located at 761 Walnut Knoll Lane in Cordova, Tennessee has ongoing specials for their customers.

From massages to skin treatment, waxing, peeling, and anti-aging treatments and even hand and foot care, Serenity Day Spa has treatment for a reasonable price – even for college students who may be on a tight budget.

“Each of our packages are discounted since they require more than one service, but I would recommend the “A Case of Serenity” package to college students to give them a taste of our massages and facials,” McNerney said.

According to McNerney, two of the most popular requests at the spa are the “Miracle Massage,” which includes a whirlpool and full body massage, and the “A Little Piece of Quiet,” which includes a full body massage for $95, lunch as well as a manicure and pedicure for $160.

This month, the spa has six special deals going on for everyone and their loved ones.

“A Sweet Treat” gives an upper body massage and express facial for an hour and a half for $90.

“Be My Valentine” gives the same treatment with a spa pedicure added on for two in a half hours for $140.

“Couple Escape for two” gives a full body massage to the couple in a dual room for an hour, then lets the couple enjoy a private candlelit dinner for thirty minutes for $180.

“Sweetheart Special” gives a full body massage, a signature facial and spa pedicure with paraffin wax for three in a half hours for $205.

“My Heart and Soul” gives a full body massage, a signature facial, spa manicure and pedicure, whirlpool and lunch for five in a half hours for $260.

“Love Rocks” gives the couple massages and spa pedicures for up to three hours total for $320.

Lauryn Bryant, junior biology major, has never been to a spa before.

“My major is so demanding and because of that I barely have a life outside of school, but after hearing the prices I think the best thing for me to do would be to unwind this weekend and treat myself to a Valentine’s Day massage,” Bryant said.
