After battling soggy playing conditions and multiple weather delays, The University of Memphis men's golf team placed two Tigers in the top-10 of the individual competition while finishing fourth in the Memphis Intercollegiate on Tuesday. Junior Jonathan Fly shot a three-round total of 220 to earn a share of sixth place while fellow junior Jack Belote shot 221 to finish eighth.
As a team, The U of M posted scored of 296-297-301 for a three-round total of 894 for the fourth overall finish while South Alabama (293-297-288--878) held on to its day one lead to land the top spot for the second year in a row.
Fly paced the Tigers with rounds of 72-73-75 while Belote shot scores of 71-74-76.
Sophomore Lexus Keoninh shot a three-round total of 224 to finish in a tie for 20th while sophomore Kody Alexander (78-76-78--232) and freshman Grant Milner (81-77-75--223) finished in ties for 54th and 57th, respectively.
The Memphis Intercollegiate was the last event for the Tigers for the fall semester, and they will return to action Feb. 21 when they travel to Mobile, ala., for the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate.
