Former U of M student charged with trespassing
A repeat criminal trespass offender made his way on campus Saturday night. Wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and smelling of alcohol, Kashief Johnson, 21, entered Richardson Tower North, an all-female dorm, shortly after 9 p.m., according to a police report. After Johnson ignored the petitions of resident workers, campus police were called.
"He asked me what would happen if he ran upstairs," said Ebony Johnson, Richardson Towers front desk worker. "He waited for about 20-30 minutes then ran upstairs."
After a female resident entered the dorm and made her way upstairs, Johnson ran up the stairs after her.
"I called the police," Johnson said. "And soon after that he came back downstairs."
After police arrived, Johnson was questioned. After first refusing, Johnson identified himself, which revealed he was listed on The University's trespass offender list.
Johnson, a former U of M student, was arrested March 20, 2007 for his first criminal trespass offense.
The female the trespasser chased didn't know who he was, according to Ebony Johnson, the front desk worker.
