Men take a little time

Men are usually simple when it comes to sports or everyday casual apparel. All you need to know is their favorite player, team or color.

As simple as men tend to be, when it comes to fashion, are they really that simple?

It depends on the man.

A growing number of men are warming up to the idea of actually taking the time to shop.

They are clean-cut and crisp, and spend a lot of time on their clothes and appearance.

"You would be surprised," said Jonthan Myers, manager of J2. "Some men come in and stay all day just like a woman."

Howard Q, local DJ with 101.1 FM and 98.9 FM, said that most men know that being clean cut makes them a higher commodity to women, simply because they look like they have a good job and can support a family.

There are also men who know what they like and what they want. They do not have to spend hours trying to figure it out.

They get in and get out. Simple.

There are also men who do not put that effort into their clothing. They get up and they throw something on. They may even be called sloppy, but they make it work for them and they try to clean up when they have to.

"Most men are not particularly picky," said Joshua Duncan, sales associate at Old Navy Clothing Company.

For those men who are picky, or even just fashion conscious, according to Duncan, stonewashed and sandblasted jeans are popular now, especially when worn with a solid or striped button-down shirt.

Low-rider jeans for men are also coming into style. Blazers worn over a nice shirt, either button-down or a shirt with a funny or political message are fashionable as well.
