Police Beat: December 8

1. Wednesday, Nov. 23

5:27 p.m.

Police responded to a burglary call at 275 Deloach. Tom Burks told police he left his residence at approximately 2:30 p.m. to go to the grocery store. He returned at 5:24 p.m. to find his back door had been kicked in and several items taken. The estimated loss was $2,870.

2. Friday, Nov. 25

3:40 p.m.

Police responded to a burglary call at the Carpenter Complex. Nicola McLeod told police that between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Nov. 25, someone took several items from her dorm room. The estimated loss was $135.

3. Monday, Nov. 28

12:15 a.m.

James Tate reported to police that, at around 12:10 a.m., he left the front desk area of the Holiday Inn at the Wilson School of Hospitality to work on paperwork. Tate said that when he returned, the cash drawer had been pried open and $166 had been stolen.

4. Monday, Nov. 28

12:30 p.m.

Police responded to a theft call from Rawls Hall. Anquanita Adams told police that at 9 a.m. on Nov. 28, her purse was taken from a computer table in the computer lab located in Clement Hall. The estimated loss was $68.

5. Monday, Nov. 28

3 p.m.

Police responded to a theft call in the Zach Curlin parking lot. Parker Griffith told police he parked his vehicle at 1:51 p.m. and returned around 3 p.m. to find his driver side window busted and several items missing. The estimated loss was $140.

6. Monday, Nov. 28

4:49 p.m.

Joe Green reported to police his CD player was stolen out of the dash of his car, two speakers and two amplifiers, which were mounted in a box in his trunk, were also taken from his Honda Civic. The estimated loss was $660.
