Public safety alert released

The University of Memphis Department of Public Safety issued a public safety alert Wednesday concerning several armed robberies which occurred between 11 a.m. and noon in the University area (but not on campus) in the past eight days. While none of the victims were injured, police urge students and faculty to be cautious and report any suspicious activities to authorities. In two of the incidents, the suspect was in a vehicle, and pulled up next to the victim and demanded the victim’s backpack.

While on campus after dusk or before dawn, call 678-4663 (HOME) for a Tiger Patrol escort or call University police at 678-4357.
