C-USA Power Rankings

1. Louisville (24-4 overall, 12-2 in C-USA) RPI: 24

Best win: A 69-66 win at No. 13 Cincinnati in January. The Cardinals' Taquan Dean hit seven three-pointers to carry Louisville past the Bearcats. Louisville would sweep the season series a couple weeks later.

Worst loss: This one's easy. When Memphis traveled to Freedom Hall in February they handed coach Rick Pitino an 85-68 drubbing, his worst loss since taking over the post.

Best player: Francisco Garcia, 16 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists.

If the season ended today: The Cardinals would be around a three-seed in the NCAA tournament right now with hopes of reaching their first Final Four since 1986.

Chances of winning C-USA Tourney: 4 to 1.

2. Charlotte (21-4, 12-2) RPI 26

Best win: A 91-90 squeaker over No. 17 Cincinnati. Brandon Plavich hit eight three-pointers for a game-high 26 points. You have to wonder what Bearcat coach Bob Huggins defensive strategy was against Plavich and Dean, who combined for 15 threes in two games.

Worst loss: A 73-71 home loss to Rutgers early in the season. Rutgers sticks out like a sore thumb considering their only other home loss came to No. 22 Alabama.

Best player: Eddie Basden, 16 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists.If the season ended today: The 49ers are a lock for the tournament and a no worse than a six-seed. They are on a very short list of Sweet 16 contenders.

Chances of winning C-USA Tourney: 6 to 1

3. Cincinnati (22-6, 10-4) RPI 17

Best win: An 83-54 dismantling of DePaul in January. Other than the win over the Blue Demons, Cincy is 0-4 against ranked teams.

Worst loss: Conversely, an 85-66 grudge match loss against DePaul. If they meet in the C-USA Tourney watch out.

Best player: Jason Maxiell, 15.3 points, 7.8 rebounds.

If the season ended today: Cincy should lock down a five - or six-seed. Bearcats could make a Sweet 16 run, but will likely be bounced in the first round.

Chances of winning C-USA Tourney: 7 to 1

4. DePaul (18-7, 10-4) RPI 39

Best win: An 85-72 win over No. 25 Marquette.

Worst loss: A 63-53 embarrassment at Bradley. Getting beaten by a team whose been pounded by everyone in the Missouri Valley Conference is not a good way to start a season.

Best player: Quemont Greer, 18.8 points, 7.4 rebounds.

If the season ended today: Blue Demons would make NCAA tourney on the safe side of the bubble, but would have trouble with their first round opponent.

Chances of winning C-USA Tourney: 12-1.

5. UAB (18-9, 8-6) RPI 86

Best win: An 86-63 win at Marquette.

Worst loss: A 96-81 laugher at Richmond.

Best player: Donell Taylor, 15.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists.

If the season ended today: UAB is bubble all the way. The Blazers need a strong showing in the Conference tourney to secure a bid.Chances of winning C-USA Tourney: 18-1

6. Memphis (16-12, 9-5) RPI 119

Best win: An 85-68 trouncing of rival Louisville at Freedom Hall.

Worst loss: A ridiculous 64-55 home loss to Louisiana Tech early in December.

Best player: Darius Washington Jr., 15.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists.

If the season ended today: So would the Tigers' season. After a couple of losses last week, Memphis might only crack the field with a conference tourney win.

Chances of winning C-USA Tourney: 4 - 1.

7. Houston (18-10, 9-5) RPI 61

Best win: A 70-67 win over No. 17 Louisville.

Worst loss: A 63-61 loss to Tulane.

Best player: Andre Owens, 17.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists.

If the season ended today: Cougars RPI make them automatic bubble contenders and they might be the sixth team into the tourney from C-USAChances of winningC-USA Tourney: 16-1

8. Marquette (18-9, 6-8) RPI 60

Best win: 63-54 win over No. 22 Wisconsin

Worst loss: Any of the last eight, which have dropped the Golden Eagles from top-20 to cellar dweller.

Best player: Travis Diener, 19.7 points, 7 assists and 3.9 rebounds. He will miss the rest of the season with a broken hand.

If the season ended today: With Diener out, the season ended a few weeks ago.

Chances of winning C-USA Tourney: 100-1.

9. TCU (17-11, 7-7) RPI 89

Best win: An 83-68 win over Texas Tech.

Worst loss: A 85-79 loss Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Best player: Corey Santee, 14.3 points and 3.8 assists.

If the season ended today: TCU would be thinking NIT.Chances of winningC-USA Tourney: 50-1.

10. South Florida (11-14, 4-10) RPI 225

Best win: A 76-75 win over Stephen F. Austin.

Worst loss: A 65-57 loss to Mississippi Valley State.

Best player: Terrance Leather 17.8 points, 9 rebounds.

If the season ended today: The Bulls would be counting the days until they are ripped apart in the new Big East.

Chances of winning C-USA Tourney: 180-1.

11. East Carolina (9-18, 4-11) RPI 196

Best win: A 64-62 win at Oregon State.

Worst loss: You pick, Gardner-Webb? Winthrop? Western Carolina?

Best player: Corey Rouse, 10.4 points and 10.3 rebounds.

If the season ended today: ECU would be glad they qualified for the C-USA Tourney

Chances of winning C-USA Tourney: 200-1.

12. Tulane (9-16, 3-11) RPI 273

Best win: A 76-73 win over UAB.

Worst loss: A 55-54 loss at New Orleans.

Best player: Quincy Davis, 13.8 points and 6.1 rebounds.

If the season ended today: Tulane would not make the C-USA Tourney.

Chances of winning C-USA Tourney: 350-1

13. Saint Louis (7-20, 4-10) RPI 211

Best win: A 56-48 win at TCU.

Worst loss: 65-49 loss to Southeast Missouri State.

Best player: Izik Ohanon 11.7 points and 5.4 rebounds.

If the season ended today: SLU would squeak into the Conference Tournament.

Chances of winning C-USA Tourney: 350-1

14. Southern Miss (10-17, 1-14) RPI 272

Best win: 61-60 win over Tulane.

Worst loss: Georgia State, New Orleans, UNC- Greensboro?

Best player: Anyone that scores.

If the season ended today: Southern Miss would be relieved.

Chances of winning C-USA Tourney: Non-existent.
