Police responded to a theft from vehicle call at The University of Memphis's Print Services parking lot. Christopher Bursi told police his car was broken into. According to the police report, nearly $1,740 dollars worth of merchandise was taken from his car while he was visiting a friend's apartment. The loss included 12 CDs, which were valued at $20 apiece, and his golf clubs and golf bag, which were valued at $1,300.

Maurice Jones Jr. told police someone had broken into his 1989 Toyota Camry and stole his Tennessee tag and the title of his car. According to police, his car was parked in the Richardson Towers east lot. Although Jones said his car was locked, police could not find any sign of a forced entry. The estimated loss by Jones was $125.

Police received a call from Tricia York who reported her car had been broken into while it was parked in Deloach Parking Garage. She told police someone smashed in one of her windows and tried to steal her stereo. No prints were taken, and police pushed the stereo back into place. York estimates the damage to be around $200.

5:30 p.m.
Kim Meloni told police her car had been broken into while it was parked on the second floor of Deloach Parking Garage. She called the police after she noticed her passenger window was busted out. Police said she reported her cell phone and charger missing. The estimated loss is $435.
Saturday, January 15
2:21 p.m.
Police responded to a burglary of motor vehicle call at Richardson Towers. Elizabeth Wright told police that her 1993 Honda Civic had been broken into through the passenger side window. Police said there were two marks at the bottom of the window in the shape of a flathead screwdriver. Wright's Pioneer stereo had been stolen from the dash. She estimated the damage and loss to be $319.
Wednesday, January 19
10:15 p.m.
Police responded to a report made by a student that her apartment in the Carpenter Complex had been broken into. She told police the lock on the door had been damaged. However, the student could not find anything missing. The door and the lock were replaced by maintenance.
Thursday, January 20

Police are investigating a burglary after they received a call that a Dell laptop was stolen from Patterson Hall. The U of M staff member who called in the theft told the police she had left the computer in her office overnight. She said she put it in a black nylon carrying case and put it next to her desk. She told police she locked the door and set the alarm before she left for the night. The loss is reported at $3,366.
