University Police answered a motor vehicle theft call at Carpenter Complex. A student told officers that his 2005 red Kymco Vespa scooter was stolen from the complex parking lot at approximately 5:00 a.m. this date. The victim told officers that he wants to press charges against the thief. Total loss is estimated at $2,875.

University Police responded to a theft call in the Tiger Den cafeteria, 3718 Alumni. Tamara S. Webster told officers that between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. this date, someone stole $134 from her backpack that was in the employee locker room while she was on duty as a cashier.

9:26 a.m.
A University Center cafeteria staff member called police to report a vandalism incident. A staff member was fired at approximately 9:00 a.m. and dumped meat and produce into the garbage before leaving the premises. Total loss is estimated at $60.

12:15 p.m.
Police responded to a theft call at the Meeman Journalism building. A member of the journalism department reported that a white male driving a red truck stole 15 bundles of "The Daily Helmsman" from the sidewalk in front of the building. Total loss is estimated at $200.
Thursday, November 18
11:00 a.m.
Police responded to a vandalism call in the south lot, 3800 Southern. A campus visitor told police that someone had told him the alarm on his truck had been activated. When he arrived at his vehicle, the driver's door was open. After inspecting the vehicle, he found that the alarm had been disconnected and the battery cable bolt was missing. He reported that he had parked his vehicle between 9:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. There had been multiple passengers in the vehicle before the incident, and the victim was unable to tell if anything was missing at the time of the report.
Thursday, November 18
9:00 p.m.
University Police answered an alarm at the Innovation Drive parking garage, 340 Innovation. The attendant told officers that a suspect walked up to the booth and demanded money. He said that he had a weapon, but the attendant did not see one. The attendant activated the alarm inside the booth and the suspect fled through the back of the garage. Police searched the area but were unable to find the suspect. The attendant described the man as a 20-29 year old, 5'10" black male, weighing approximately 165 pounds. The suspect was unshaven and wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and gray winter hat.
Saturday, November 20
6:45 a.m.
Two U of M students called police to report vandalism to two vehicles in the south lot, 3800 Southern. Between 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 19 and 6:30 a.m. this date, someone smashed the driver's window and windshield on one vehicle and the passenger's window on the second vehicle. No items were missing from inside either car. Total loss is estimated at $450.

8:49 p.m.
University Police answered a theft from vehicle call in the Richardson Towers west lot, 3603 Central. A student told police that he parked his vehicle in the lot at 11:00 p.m. on Nov. 21. When he returned to his vehicle at 1:00 p.m. this date, he saw that someone had broken the driver's window of his car and removed the stereo from the dashboard. Total loss is estimated at $550.

4:25 p.m.
A staff member called police to report a theft in McCord Hall, 3790 Desoto. She told police that she left her office unattended for a few minutes and found a man standing in her office when she returned. The man said that he was lost and the staff member gave him directions. She then checked her purse and discovered that her wallet was missing. The victim described the suspect as a 6'2" black male weighing approximately 300 pounds. He was bald and wearing black pants with a white stripe and a long sleeve white T-shirt. The suspect was last seen around the McWherter Library.

11:58 p.m.
Police responded to a vandalism call in the Zach Curlin north lot. A student told police that she parked her vehicle in the lot at 8:45 p.m. and returned at 11:58 p.m. to find deep scratches in the driver's side window and the driver's side mirror broken off. Total damage is estimated at $300.
