A student filed a vandalism report at Department of Police Services, 505 Zach Curlin. The student told officers that he parked his vehicle on the fourth level of the Zach Curlin garage at 1 p.m. on Sept. 22. When he returned at 3 p.m. he noticed that his key would not open his car door. He then observed that the locks appeared to be drilled. The vehicle was not entered. Total damage is estimated at $500.

University Police answered a theft from building call in Patterson Hall, 530 Patterson. Kristin A. Watson told officers that she left her office open and unattended on Sept. 24 between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Watson advised that she noticed her wallet was missing from her purse under her desk. Total loss is estimated at $87.

2:19 p.m.
Police responded to a vandalism call at Zach Curlin and Norriswood. Adam C. Parson told officers that he parked his vehicle at approximately 10:30 a.m. When he returned at 1:45 p.m. he found that the right rear window of his 1997 Dodge Stratus had been shattered. Total loss is estimated at $200.

6:30 p.m.
University Police answered a theft from vehicle call at 4067 South Park Loop on The U of M South Campus. Todd M. Moroney told officers that he and his girlfriend were running on the track at approximately 5:15 p.m. When he returned to his vehicle, the driver's side rear window had been broken out. The victim's wallet was missing from the vehicle.

8 p.m.
U of M student Jeremy M. Barber called police to report a vandalism call in the Richardson Towers west lot, 3603 Central. Barber told police that he parked his vehicle at 3:40 p.m. He returned at 7:45 p.m. and found that someone had broken out the passenger's side front window of his vehicle. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle. Total damage is estimated at $75.

5:04 p.m.
University Police responded to a theft call from Manning Hall, 3744 Alumni. Jasmine Strickland told officers that she left her backpack unattended in room #316 on three separate occasions. When she returned to her dorm room at approximately 4:45 p.m. she discovered that her purse was missing from her backpack. The purse contained $100 and her debit card. There were no suspects at the time of the report. Total loss is estimated at $186.

7:34 p.m.
University Police answered a motor vehicle theft call in the South parking lot. Darvis S. Williams reported that he parked his vehicle on the east end of the South lot and last saw it at 12 p.m. on Sept. 29. At 7:30 he returned to the lot and discovered that his vehicle was missing. There was no broken glass in the area. The vehicle was later recovered on Oct. 2 in the Kroger parking lot in Poplar Plaza.

University Police answered a theft from vehicle call from Elisabeth Lisco. She told officers that she parked her 2002 Ford SUV at 10 a.m. at 3771 Poplar. She reported that between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. someone broke into the vehicle and took several items. She reported that the doors were locked and the alarm was armed. Total loss is estimated at $370.

5:30 p.m.
U of M student Xzavier O. Smith reported a theft from vehicle call in the South lot. Smith told officers that he parked his 1987 Chevrolet Caprice at 9:35 a.m. When he returned at approximately 3:40 p.m. both right hubcaps and an Alpine radio and television were missing. There were no signs of forced entry. Smith reported that he had serial numbers for the missing stereo equipment and would report them to police. Total loss is estimated at $1,050.

2:15 p.m.
University Police answered a theft from vehicle call near 633 Normal. Lindsey C. Brand reported that between 1:15 a.m. and 2:15 a.m. someone broke the right passenger's side window of her vehicle and stole Lindsey M. Morris' purse. No other items appeared to be missing, but the steering column appeared to have been tampered with. Total loss is estimated at $359.
