University Police answered a theft call in the University Center. Samantha K. McCracken and Laura B. Hatley told officers that they left their purses by the east second floor stairwell while they were participating in rush events. Both purses were stolen while the students were gone. Total loss is estimated at $289.

7:50 p.m.
Bryant S. Bailey reported a theft to University Police at the Department of Police Services, 505 Zach Curlin. Bailey told officers that his U of M ID was taken from his gym bag while he was taking a non-credit class at the U of M Boot Camp on the north side of the Fieldhouse, 495 Zach Curlin. The class was a military physical fitness activity with no ties to The University. Bailey is no longer a student at The University and his U of M ID is no longer valid.
Wednesday, September 8
11:35 a.m.
University Police officers answered a theft call from the FedEx Institute of Technology, 365 Innovation. Mahathi Kondapati told officers that someone took a DVD player from room #102D. She noticed that the DVD player was missing at 7 a.m. and was not sure when she last saw it. Ms. Kondapati last used the room on Sept. 3 at approximately 5 p.m. She did not notice the player missing at that time. Total loss is estimated at $250.

A U of M student came to the Department of Police Services to report threatening messages and behavior from another student. The case is under investigation.
Thursday, September 9
8:50 a.m.
University Police answered a vandalism call in the Music Building, 3775 Central. A University staff member told officers that at 8 a.m. he was unlocking classrooms on the south side of the building when he discovered the door to one room was damaged. He reported that he had secured the door at 10 a.m. Sep. 8. Repairs to the door are estimated at $250.

11:20 a.m.
University Police answered a theft call from the Fieldhouse, 495 Zach Curlin. Belinda E. Scott reported that a computer was stolen from room #162, a TigerLAN lab, between 8 a.m. and 4:25 p.m on September 8. The room was not locked at the time of the theft. Total loss is estimated at $1,700.
Friday, September 10
3:53 p.m.
University Police officer J. Johnson responded to a burglary call at the Carpenter Complex. U of M student Tobias A. Ippisch told officers that he left his room at 11 a.m. and returned at 2:50 p.m. to find that someone had entered his room and stolen $180 cash and other personal property. Total loss is estimated at $370.
Saturday, September 11
10:10 a.m.
A student reported vandalism to her vehicle in the South lot during a walk-in report at the Department of Police Services. Between 11:55 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sept. 10 someone scratched the left rear door, fender, fuel door and trunk lid of her vehicle. The student thinks that she knows the suspect, with whom she has had similar incidents in the past. No estimate of damage to the vehicle was available at the time of this report.

University Police responded to a telephone harassment call in West Hall. A student advised that she had received a threatening phone call from an ex-boyfriend. The case is still under investigation.
