As Corey Futral looked back over his first semester at TheUniversity of Memphis, he was glad he chose to transfer from UnionUniversity last winter.
Futral, senior public relations major, said he was attracted toThe U of M because of its diversity and large campus.
One of Futral's most memorable moments from this spring waswatching Memphis beat Louisville 62-58 Feb. 4, at The Pyramid.
"It was great to see people so enthusiastic," he said. "That's agame I definitely won't forget."
As the spring semester comes to an end, U of M studentsreflected on the events that made their time here memorable.
"The power going out last Thursday was a godsend," said KrisGarver, junior anthropology major. "I would have to say that it wasmy most memorable moment because I had a slide quiz that day, andyou can't take a slide quiz without power."
Some students, like senior biology major Melinda Laroco, willhave lots to keep them busy this summer.
"I am in charge of frosh camp this summer," Laroco said.
Other students said if they were able to relive the semesterover again, they would study or go to class more often.
"If I had everything to do over again, I would have tried to bemore prepared for this semester," Futral said. "After Itransferred, everything happened at once and I was somewhatunprepared."
While Futral said he wished he spent more time getting preparedfor his classes, other students said their courses bored themnearly to the point that they pulled out their teeth.
"My most memorable moment of this semester was when I pulled mytooth out in class," said Ben Thomason, freshman businessmajor.
Getting an "A" in philosophy was sophomore hospitality resortmanagement major Blake Mitchusson's most memorable moment of thissemester.
"If I had everything to do over again, I would attend everyclass," he said. "But I know I will most likely wait until the lastminute to study for final exams."
Some U of M students plan to spend their summer as far away fromcampus as possible.
"I want to be able to relax instead of having all the pressuresof school hanging over my head," Garver said.
Others plan to spend the summer working to stockpile their backaccounts.
"I plan to work, maybe at FedEx and save a lot of money," Futralsaid. "I also will be spending a lot of time at the lake."
