It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
Although the holiday season is upon us, University of Memphisstudents might find that taking final exams, writing last minutepapers and moving out of dorms could quickly take away any holidayspirit on campus.
But help is on the way. Here is a quick overview of holidaythemed movies and shows that should help any Grinch get in theholiday spirit.
Some oldies but goodies, like Miracle on 34th Street, AChristmas Story and It's a Wonderful Life can be found on almostany channel -- local, cable or satellite, but some networksdedicate the month of December to display their original holidayfeatures or a few select favorites.
ABC Family Channel, which offers programming called "25 Days ofChristmas" annually, created the film Three Days, starring Sex andthe City star Kristin Davis as an unhappy wife who dies in a tragicaccident. She is brought back to life by an angel (Don Cheadle),who has given her husband three days to prove his love for her.
USA Network has created Call Me Claus, starring Whoopi Goldbergas a TV executive who becomes the new Santa, and StealingChristmas, starring Tony Danza.
The Disney Channel has several holiday films planned from overthe years planned to run over the month of December, the latestbeing 'Twas the Night, about a rambunctious, criminal uncle of twochildren who steals Santa's sleigh but turns around in time to saveChristmas. Another is The Ultimate Christmas Present.
VH1 has even joined the holiday bandwagon with their originalfilm, which airs annually at this time, A Diva's Christmas Carol,starring singer / actress Vanessa L. Williams as a female Scrooge.For Christmas 2003, VH1 is presenting A Kid Rock Christmas,presenting competition for MTV's Osbourne Family Christmas.
