University of Memphis student and criminal justicemajor, Tamara Irons, is an active student.

She attends all of her classes, participates in the StudentAssociation Council, Black Student Association, NAACP and she findstime to attend most U of M events, on and off campus.

When you usually see Irons, she is full of life.

However, Irons said something is missing.

She said she wants a transformation.

So a makeover was arranged, not because she needed one, but tohelp her out when she had meetings or wanted to enjoy a night outon the town.

Before the transformation, she had her hair pinned up, wore awhite Old Navy T-shirt, light blue jeans, Air Force Ones, noearrings, no makeup, eyeglasses and a big ol' smile.

In her closet was the perfect outfit. It did not take long tofind the perfect makeup color, nice shoes and accessories tomatch.

There was a nice olive-green and tan stripped shirt and skirt inher closet.

Digging deeper, I discovered a pair of tan heals that wentperfect with the outfit.

After getting her into her new garb, I decided to change herhair.

Her hair was already straight, so I combed it into a wrap stylewith a little bump curl at the ends and added a little height atthe top.

Now it was time for the final step: the makeup.

I used M.A.C. products on her face that matched her skin tone, brown lip liner and sheer brown lip-glass on her lips.

In addition, she wore gold earrings and her gold class ring toshow off her new French manicure.

When I finished her makeup, her roommate Tisha Dowdell said thatIrons looked wonderful.

"Is that my roommate? She looks fantastic," Dowdellsaid. "That outfit looks real cute on her and her makeupreally looks good."

When walking around the lobby in Smith Hall other people noticedher new makeover.

"Oh my goodness, those shoes are awesome, they bring outthe outfit completely," senior Cara Laughlin said."That's cool. She looks cute."

Irons said the experience was fun.

"This made my day, I feel like a new person," shesaid. "I know I can't dress like this everyday, but I knowwhat steps to take to look and feel good about myself."
