U of M student and ROTC cadet Ezine Anderson was shot and leftparalyzed after a robbery attempt Monday Night.
Anderson was shot in the neck by the robber. Anderson was takento the Regional Medical Center at Memphis, paralyzed from the neckdown.
The shooting occurred in the 1200 block of East Shelby Drivearound 10:29 p.m., according to police spokesperson LaTanya Able.Police have no suspects in custody.
The only description of the suspect is he a black man. Accordingto Able, while Anderson entered his car, he was approached by thesuspect. The suspect placed a hard metal object into Anderson'sback saying, "Drop it off".
Later, the suspect started firing several shots, hittingAnderson once.
Anderson graduated from Fairley High School in 2000. Andersonattends The U of M on a full four-year ROTC collegescholarship.
Police have no leads in their ongoing investigation.
