The Rudi E. Scheidt School of music will offer a new performanceensemble for all students to join in the fall.
Members of the voice faculty, the choral director and directorof the school of music, Patricia Hoy created the program with funin mind.
The All Campus Choir would be an outlet for any studentinterested in singing and for them to have a great time at school, said Hoy.
"We want people to have fun," Hoy said. "So we came up with theidea of the All Campus Choir to have students sing a wide varietyof music and be able to socially interact through singing."
There is no limit to the kind of songs the choir will sing. Showtunes, popular tunes to easy listening songs will all be apart ofthe program.
Hoy is currently searching for directors to run the program. Oneof the most important criteria for the director is his or herability to have a great time, she said.
"We're in the process of looking at several options," Hoy said."We're looking at a new doctoral student. We are also talking to acouple of choral directors. They must all understand the purpose ofthe choir. We want it to be very fun."
All students are welcomed to join, and depending on thestudent's major, they can receive credit for joining the theperformance ensemble.
