'Essentials' get extra time off

Essential employees who were required to work through last months furlough will be allowed to take extra time off.

The state of Tennessee and the Tennessee Board of Regents have approved a plan that will provide those employees with the opportunity to take time off equal to the number of cumulative hours worked through the furlough period July 1-3. The option, which requires employees to use their additional time off before annual leave , must be taken prior to June 30, 2003.
