The new Tennessee state budget includes:

•The largest one-year tax increase in Tennessee history

•A state sales taxes increase to seven percent on July 15

(except groceries)

•Taxes raised by seven cents a pack on cigarettes and 10

percent on other tobacco products

•An alcoholic beverages tax increase of 10 percent

•New sales tax on vending machine items and arcade

games

•A 2.75 percent tax on single items costing $1,600-

$3,200.

•A corporate excise, or profit, tax increase to 6.5 percent

•A 50 percent increase in local business taxes

•State-licensed professionals tax raised to $400

•An increase on commercial vehicle registration fees

according to vehicle class
