Wednesday, July 10

11:07 a.m.

An officer responded to a theft call at 3774 Walker in Room 201 of the Life Sciences building. The victim told the officer that on the previous day between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., she received a call on her cell phone while working. The victim reported that a friend removed several items from her purse to help find the ringing phone. According to the report, the victim put the phone and other items back into her purse but forgot to put her wallet back. When she returned to the room at 9:30 a.m. the next day, she could not find the wallet. The black wallet, valued at $5, contained credit cards and other personal items of the victim.

Wednesday, July 10

10:43 p.m.

An officer responded to a vandalism call at 3614 Midland. A Phi Gamma Delta member told the officer he left the residence at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Upon his return at 10 p.m., he noticed someone had spray-painted a negative remark in large letters on the front of the fraternity house. Damage to the house was estimated at $20.

Thursday, July 11

5:40 p.m.

An officer responded to a call at 620 Echles regarding a theft from the Student Recreation and Fitness Center. The victim told the officer he had placed some of his personal belongings in a locker in the men’s locker room at 2:30 p.m. When the victim returned at 5:30 p.m., he noticed his locker had been broken into and his property stolen. The victim told the officer he did not notice anyone near his locker. The items taken were a $500 ring, an $89 watch and a $199 cell phone. Officers estimated property loss at $788.

Friday, July 12

12:20 a.m.

An officer responded to a theft call at 3906 Tiger Paw. The victim told the officer he returned to his apartment on Thursday at 9:10 p.m. and observed his bicycle secured to the porch’s rail in front of his building. According to the report, the victim’s roommate entered the apartment at 9:40 p.m. and informed him his bicycle was missing. The victim said after checking the area, the only remaining part of the bicycle was the front tire, which was still chained to the rail. The bicycle was described as a silver-colored Schwinn with red lettering. It is valued at $200.

Friday, July 12

1:10 p.m.

An officer took a walk-in, self-report at University Police headquarters. The victim stated her driver’s license and bank card were taken from her ID holder sometime between June 24 and July 3. She stated that someone had used the card at various locations around the city and attempted to deposit worthless checks into her account. The victim does not know if the card was used on campus. The total amount overdrawn from the victim’s account is $5,000.
