Former University of Memphis graduate assistant Tammy DeGroff has been hired by the Athletic Department as assistant athletic media relations director. DeGroff will handle publicity for the volleyball, track and tennis programs at The U of M.
DeGroff served two years as a graduate assistant sports information director (SID) at Memphis before spending last year as the assistant SID at Campbell University. At Campbell, she served as the primary contact for volleyball, women’s basketball and softball and was also involved with the day-to-day operations of the Campbell Athletic Department website.
A native of Rio, Wis., DeGroff graduated from Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1995 with a degree in journalism and worked as a student assistant in the SID office for two years while working on her bachelor’s degree.
While a graduate assistant at Memphis, DeGroff was responsible for the promotion of the volleyball, track and tennis teams, while assisting with home football games and working with the women’s basketball statistics crew.
