Other players should have stepped up to replace Wise

Dear Editor:

I would like to offer another opinion to Daniel Ford's "Tellin' it Like it Is" column from Wednesday, March 20.

It is unfair to place all of the blame on one player's shoulders. Last time I checked, the Tigers were a team.

If one person is hurt or has a bad game, the other players should step up. That did not happen against Houston.

What are the Tigers going to do next year without Wise? They won't have him for any games, so they need to learn to play without him.

Also, just because the doctors cleared Wise to play does not mean he should. Playing on it may have hurt it more.

Has Ford ever had a knee injury? If he has then I'm sure he knows that one wrong landing and Kelly's chance for a pro career would be in jeopardy.

Only Wise, NOT Ford, knows how his knee felt. Ford stated that we should be mad at Kelly, not at the other players. If we should be mad at anyone, it SHOULD be the whole team. But I think we should be proud of the solid season, and how well they have played in the NIT tournament. As a life long Tigers fan, I look forward to next season rather than trying to place blame for this one.
