The commentary in Tuesday's article pertaining to black racism was shallow and apparently motivated by an internal narcissism embedded deep in the psyche of the staff reporter who had the gaul to submit that refuse to the editor for publication.
Black people are constantly addressing issues that are juvenile and extremely petty in nature. Yes, many black Americans exhibit a dislike for those members of their race who choose to indulge in miscegenation just as many other ethnic groups maintain the same beliefs, yet many blacks couldn't care less one way or the other.
In fact, if the facts printed in the Helmsman are correct, it seems as though the author of the article used this singular incident involving one narrow -minded Negro cabby as an ad-campaign that celebrates her being "a somewhat attractive black girl" and her being "a good looking black woman." Not to mention her being "a good black woman," the author of this dastardly text makes a major faux-pas in stating that the evil alternatives for the black male are "hanging out on street corners or jail," to paraphrase the reporter.
This textual blunder only arms the juggernaut of prejudice that currently steamrolls at will throughout the world.
Now, some uninformed, misguided, free thinker may possibly be infected by the infantile thoughts transmitted from brain to paper by the reporter. Hopefully those infected are reading this response, for it serves as the anecdote to all ignorance previously printed in the aforementioned article.
Personally, I think the author of the article should pay the Helmsman for the free advertisement which she received.
I'm not one who is easily persuaded by propaganda, but she sold me on her being "a good black woman,” whatever that is.
Isn't that perpetuating a stereotype though? What, white women can't be good?
