Dear Editor:
I read with interest the article on Sister Souljah. I am a white non-traditional student here at The University of Memphis.
I have read Souljah’s comments before, and I do not agree with most of them.
However, I am not opposed to my student funds being used to bring her here to speak.
She has the right to speak her mind and be heard, and there are people on campus who support her.
Everyone has a right to his or her own opinion, and we should all respect that.
I personally will not attend, just as I would not attend it a white supremist was speaking. If you are opposed to her being here, don’t go.
My personal feeling is that she is a racist, but last time I checked, that was her problem, not mine.
