Mr. Amore's column makes me dread page 4

I have been extremely unpleased with Mr. Amore and his "Love Corner" portion of the paper on Wednesdays. He is constantly putting women down, and as a woman, I find it very degrading. This week’s article on PMS was especially bad. I do not see how a man can grasp what a woman goes through during PMS.

Mr. Amore is constantly finding something wrong with women and is, as he terms it, "warning" men about it.

As though it's not bad enough that he attacks women, he also uses foul language to get his point across.

Women are not perfect, but neither are men for that matter. In fact there is not now, nor ever has been a perfect person since Jesus Christ lived on the earth.

Everyone has their own problems, why publicze them and ridicule them for the world to see?

No one likes the world to know of their faults. I would like to venture that Mr. Amore himself is not perfect.

I realize that it must be hard to keep a steady columnist for that specific part of the paper becuase you are always changing the author and topic.

My question is why do most of the topics have to be negative and degrading to one person or another? Why not do a positive column on the holidays and changing season of weather and life; life living in a dorm and away from home; or, why not write on the dumb questions that plague people today?

For instance: why do we turn the radio down when we are lost? Why do we drive faster when we are lost in order to find our way quicker? or some other question that would not be attacking any gender or race of people.

I enjoy reading the Helmsman, but I always dread Wednesday's page 4.

And I thank you for keeping the student body informed of the happening events on campus.
