3:01 p.m.
An officer was dispatched to Richardson Towers where a University of Memphis staff member advised him that a pressure washer had been stolen.
According to the police report, a second staff member told the officer the washer was last used June 7.
The staff member said after he used the washer, he chained it to a pole in the northeast storage room of Richardson. Property loss was estimated at $600. Police have no suspects at this time.
Tuesday, June 19
1:10 a.m.
While on routine patrol, an officer observed two men walking toward the exit gate at Carpenter Student Housing Complex. The officer stopped his vehicle and observed both subjects lift the gate and force it into the oncoming traffic lane, leaving it inoperable.
Both males were placed under arrest for vandalism under $500.
Friday, June 22
2:23 p.m.
Officers responded to an assault call at 3896 Tiger Paw where a woman said she and her roommate had been fighting over the use of a heater. According to reports, the victim’s roommate became irrate after the victim suggested opening a window instead of using the heater.
After shouting obscenities, the roommate grabbed the victim around her throat, leaving large red streaks down the left side of the victim’s neck.
According to reports, resident advisers were called, but took a phone report because of an employee shortage. The officer told the advisers that the roommates would be separated for safety reasons.
Sunday, June 24
2:18 a.m.
Officers responded to a noise complaint at 3882 Tiger Paw where they noticed a large group of people outside the apartment drinking alcoholic beverages. After entering the apartment, officers found another group of students drinking alcohol.
According to the police report, the officers identified the resident who lived in the apartment and advised him that it was against University of Memphis policy for alcohol to be on campus. The resident was advised to shut the party down and to collect any remaining alcohol for confiscation.
Officers remained at the scene until the crowd dispersed. The alcohol collected was tagged as evidence and the resident was advised that he would be contacted by Judicial Affairs concerning the event.
