The tennis courts at The University of Memphis will not be ready for play when the Lady Tigers start their season against Lamar University at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
The Lady Tigers will be forced to open their season on the outdoor courts of Rhodes college because the courts at Southern and Echles are not completely finished.
Two members of the Lamar team have winning singles records: Catalina Paz with a 5-1 record at No. 2. and Alta Wentzel with a 3-2 record at No. 3.
The No. 3 doubles team of Kasha Finkowska and Jennifer Wright is 2-0 to lead Lamar.
The Lady Tigers are led by the strength of duo senior Christina Ladyman and sophomore Sabrina Lindemann.
Both are undefeated in singles play and as a doubles team the pair is 3-0.
Finishing her Memphis career and posted her 81st career singles win with Memphis's 5-2 win over Davidson.
This weekend the Tigers will host a pair of in-state rivals.
Tennessee Tech will be the visiting team on Saturday at 9 a.m. and the University at Tennessee Martin matchup will begin at 2 p.m.
