The Bearcats roll into town tomorrow night and the Tigers are reaching deep into their arsenal for more ammunition.
Sophomore guard Courtney Trask and junior guard John Grice were both suspended for most of the season and will be returning to action tomorrow night.
Head coach John Calipari hopes that Grice and Trask can bring some depth to the team and fill some holes that otherwise may be left open going into the rest of the season.
Trask will be expected to play point guard at the back up position and contribute some crucial minutes for the Tigers.
"We have no back up point guard," Calipari said. "Courtney will assume that role and he should be able to go in and get five to six minutes a half."
Shannon Forman, Marcus Moody and Scooter McFadgon are all playing really good basketball right now which may make playing time a little scarce for Grice.
"Marcus, Scooter and Shannon deserve to play because they are playing well," Calipari said.
"There's just not any minutes. John won't have minutes unless there's foul trouble or their is an injury."
The Tigers will face the fivetime defending Conference USA champions in Thursday's matchup.
Junior Kelly Wise continues to lead the Tigers averaging 15.3 points and 10.5 rebounds.
He was named Conference USA's Player of the Week on Monday after he averaged 21 points and seven rebounds against South Florida and Tulane.
Memphis will go into the game having won 10 of its last 11 games.
Tough junior guard Steve Logan leads the Bearcats averaging 16.5 points per game.
The Bearcats have won their last two games, including a 64-52 win over Southern Mississippi on Sunday.
Sophomore guard Kenny Saterfield is averaging 14 points and may give the Tigers some trouble.
Calipari doesn't seem to be worried about Cincinatti, he feels his team will be prepared.
"You have to prepare them for games like this," Calipari said. "But after you prepare you have to let it go, and I have to make sure that these guys are ready."
The Tigers are enjoying a stretch in which they are playing four of five games at home in the Pyramid.
Overall Memphis is 121-37 in the arena and have won the last ten home games in the arena in each of the buildings 10 seasons.
The game time is at 8 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN.
