The University of Memphis Lady Tiger golf team turned in a team score of 314 (606) during the second round and fell into a tie for fifth place with Louisville (606) at the Pine Needles Invitational in Southern Pines, North Carolina. The University of South Florida, a Conference USA member, and Alabama tied for first place with a scores of 595.
Tiger freshman Meaghan Francella, who had the individual lead after the opening round, fell into a tie for fourth after shooting a four over par 76. Francella is at 146 just two shots out of first place going into Wednesday's final round. South Florida's Fany Schaeffer, Rachel Laster of Kentucky and Laura Torrisi of Campbell tied for the individual lead with scores of 144. Memphis Lady Tiger Sandra Hellsvik and teammate Abby More tied for 25th at 153.
