How stupid are the people in Palm Beach county?
I don't know how many of you have seen the ballots the residents are claiming to be the most confusing document ever written, but they are really quite simple.
You have the candidate's name with an arrow directly beside it pointing to where the mark needs to be made.
Name, arrow, punch-hole -- doesn't really seem all that confusing, does it?
Now these people (who we've already figured out aren't the brightest in the world) want to re-vote? Anyone else reminded of a kindergartner yelling, "do-over!" when something didn't go their way?
Politics are a strange thing.
Gotta be proud of this whole mess, though. In any other country in the world, there would be rioting and military coups and people dying in the streets of Palm Beach county. In America we just badmouth the other side on national television -- much less bloody, that way.
Even die-hard Democrats have to feel bad for George W. Bush, too. The poor guy had the thing won. Then Al Gore rescinds his concession and starts yelling for recounts.
And what about those recounts? Why is it these democratic counties are finding so many new votes for Gore?
If Bush loses this one, I may lose faith in the whole damn system and move to Canada.
Hey, Canada may suck, but I'll never have to listen to Al Gore giving a State of the Union address, and for that I'm willing to put up with all those Canadians.
But seriously, the election was supposed to be over last week. It was supposed to be confirmed yesterday.
The fact that Gore can hire a superstar legal team and tie up the nation's electoral process worries me.
I say forget this whole process. Gore and Bush aren't going to do anything great for the country, but there is someone who can.
There is one person that can solve this nation's problems.
This man is experienced in politics. This man has held elected office. This man is a role model for children and an all-around super dude.
Gore and Bush have proven during this election fiasco that they are nothing but typical politicians. The man I speak of has no use for the typical political agendas because he has already retired from politics.
If we could convince him to come back to lead (and I'm sure we could) then he would only be concerned with the good of the nation and all its inhabitants.
The man I speak of is none other than ... (drum roll) ... former Tennessee Governor Ned McWherter.
He's got my vote.
