Michael Stone -- a premier Tiger -- is a returning starter and one of the fastest players on the team.

He was a starting field corner in 1999, and finished the year as the team's 7th leading tackler. Stone had two tackles for lost yardage, one quarterback sack, one pass interception, two blocked kicks, eight pass breakups and one fumble recovery.

Stone was also credited with five solo stops in the battle with Tennessee and logged one yard for lost yardage.

He had a season high 12 tackles against Southern Mississippi and was also a member of the Tiger Academic 30.

Stone, who was a walk on in 1998, was awarded a scholarship after 1999 spring drills. He was also moved to starting cornerback during that time.

Stone was recognized as one of the fastest players on the team when clocked at a 4.3 in the forty-yard dash.

As a walk-on in 1998, Stone appeared in nine games. He had a season high of three tackles in a win over Arkansas State and finished the year with eight tackles -- including six solo stops.

Stone is a transfer student from Central State University and a graduate of Lathrup High School in Southfield, Mich. He is definitely a Tiger you should know.
