If students have a gripe about dining services on campus, SGA senators Adam Comer and Jada Brisentine encourage all fellow senators and students to come and voice their concerns at the Tiger Den, Mon. at 2 p.m.
"Anyone who wants to come will have a chance to speak about the dining services at the Tiger Den and discuss how to improve the pizza (there)," Brisentine said.
Along with the discussion, students will be able to sample free pizza offered by dining services and give their opinions about ways to improve the taste.
In the last SGA meeting, Oct. 19, Comer said he shared an interest with other students and senators regarding the operating hours of the Market Place.
"We brought up a concern about the Market Place not being open late enough for students. It'd be nice if it's at least opened up at 3 or 4 p.m., considering that classes don't get out until 2:05," Comer said.
Comer also said he would like to see meal plans available for all students, not just those who live in the towers.
"We talked about meal plans and some of the options that could be implemented -- one possible option being that the meal plans could be used at the UC and at the Tiger Den and not just be limited to the towers," Comer said.
Brisentine said she would like to see a refill plan implemented on campus.
"A student could buy a cup at the beginning of the semester and get free refills all semester after purchasing that cup," Brisentine said.
In addition Brisentine has written a bill that would allow a picnic area on campus to be added if the bill is passed.
"We're working very hard and we're glad that dinning services is cooperating with us," Brisentine said.
At Thursday's senate meeting, Tré Hargett, a former SGA president, was the guest speaker.
Hargett spoke during the citizen's forum. He offered an encouraging speech to SGA members, urging them to continue their involvement with extracurricular activities on campus.
"I learned a whole lot more in those extracurricular activities than I did in the class room," Hargett said." I commend each of you for staying involved."
Hargett also said he would like to see the senators show their community involvement by voting in the upcoming national and local elections.
"Go vote on Tuesday," Hargett said. "If you can't take time to vote, then what do you have time for?"
