Music Review: Guru's 'Jazzmatazz Streetsoul'

If there is one CD worth checking out this year, this one is it.

Guru has done a great job at what a lot of artists are trying to do these days, compile a host of great artists onto one album, making the various styles work together.

Of the 16 tracks on this album, you don't want to miss one.

Guru starts off with an intro that will give you a taste of what you are about to hear, which is a little bit of jazz, soul, hip-hop and r& b all rolled into one.

Not only does the sound ease you into a mode that will make you relax and enjoy yourself, but the lyrics also have a tale of their own, and each song a purpose.

I can't really go into deep details about how great this album is, but I'll give a quick hint.

Take Guru's rhymes and lyrics, add some Angie Stone here, Erika Badu there, some Roots, Issac Hayes, Amel Larrieux and Herbie Hancock and you have an album that you'll want to listen to over and over again for its sound and its variety of artists.

Grade: A+
