Letter to the Editor: Omega Psi Phi thanks you for your support

The Men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated, The Magnificent Xi Zeta Chapter, at The University of Memphis would like to thank the students, faculty and staff for your support and encouragement during our interim suspension. Your phone calls and letters of concern were influential in the administration's decision to overturn the suspension. Our performance during the Pan-Hellenic step show was not intended to advocate hazing nor suggest our support of this practice. Omega Psi Phi emphatically opposes hazing and we used the stepshow as an avenue to express our objection towards it. Unfortunately, the show's intent was misinterpreted and some individuals voiced their concerns. We want to express our gratitude to The Helmsman for continuously providing a medium for students to express their concerns about issues that affect the entire university and community.
